TITLE: Auto Extrication Training Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Search and Rescue Operations
MEMBERS OF COMMITTEES: Non-voting members of the Operations Committee
TERM: One year
REQUIRED PREREQUISITES / ASSETS / SKILLS:
o Extensive experience in auto extrication operations
o Organized with good communications skills
o Training experience
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
o identification, development, implementation and coordination of training programs for Auto Ex personnel in a timely manner in accordance with standards
o develop a core of persons, specialized in various subjects areas that can deliver training to members
o attend incidents periodically to assess personnel performance and training needs.
o report on progress of training at Operations Committee meetings
o complete individual training assessments
o maintain training records and submit to Director of SAR Operations
o promote cross training for all members
o prepare training budget recommendations and administers the training budget
o work with other managers / coordinators
o attend workshops, seminars, courses relating to Auto Extrication
o assist in the recruitment of new personnel when requested by the Operations Committee
o maintain audio, visual, and other training aids
o work with other agencies or groups involved with training, i.e. Justice Institute, other SAR groups
o prepare training budgets
METHOD OF SELECTION / APPOINTMENT: Elected by SAR members and approved by the Director and the Supervisor of Services.
